In Conceria La Veneta, thanks to a sensitivity rooted in the production philosophy, the impact on the environment is reduced to a minimum. The technological innovation process, respect for the environment and work safety are evidenced by numerous certifications.
In June 2024, Conceria La Veneta participated in a two-day audit, which enabled it to achieve the LWG certificate. The Leather Working Group membership organisation is committed to following the entire leather supply chain. Since 2005, the tannery has been developing audit protocols designed to certify leather manufacturers on the basis of their environmental compliance and performance capabilities.

DOWNLOAD PDFIn 2007 the company obtained the first Designation of Origin Certification for finished leather in compliance with UNI 11239:2007, updated in 2016 in compliance with standard UNI EN 16484:2015 "Determination of the origin of leather production”. The company guarantees its customers that the qualifying phases of the tanning process have been carried out in Italy, thus also ensuring the stylistic and innovative content, as well as the state-of-the-art technology and respect for the environment that characterise Italian production. Tannery customers will also be able to communicate to the market, in a way controlled by ICEC, that they have used certified Italian leather, through a special traceability scheme that foresees the issue of numbered labels to affix on the leather products.

Union regulation dating from 18 December 2006, concerning the Registration,
Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.
The Regulation established
the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). The main purpose of the regulation is to improve
the knowledge of the hazards and risks arising from existing (introduced on the
market before September 1981) and new (introduced after September 1981) chemicals while
maintaining and enhancing the competitiveness and innovative capacities of the European chemical
industry. With reference to EC Regulation 1907/2006 (REACH), our company, as a manufacturer of
items, must communicate the presence of SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern)
to its customers, if the two following conditions are met simultaneously:
- they are included in the candidate list approved by ECHA and published on the
relevant website www.echa.europa.eu;
- they are contained in the item in a quantity greater than 0.1%.
It is NOT the responsibility of the manufacturers of items to register the substances and their
use. The items supplied by Conceria La Veneta do not contain any substance
included in the candidate list above the limits defined by the Regulation itself.
